In January 2014, an exclusive agreement with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts was signed to identify locations, develop projects, obtain permits, and build Hyatt Place-branded hotels in Brazil.
Under this agreement, the Hyatt Place hotel was developed in the city of São José do Rio Preto, a cultural, educational, agricultural, and industrial hub in the state of São Paulo.
The hotel was strategically located next to the city's main shopping center, Shopping Iguatemi, and featured 152 rooms, a 24-hour market, pool, gym, and a 3,983 sqft / 370 m² event hall. The 10-story tower, plus a mezzanine, had a total area of 93,750 sqft / 8,710 m². The project was completed in November 2016.
